Pickup driver suffers severed arm in collision with sedan
SAN DIEGO (CNS) – The driver of a pickup truck suffered a severed arm Wednesday in a collision with a sedan at a City Heights intersection.
A crash at 54th Street and University Avenue occurred shortly before 10:30 a.m., according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
Medics took the driver of the truck to Scripps Mercy Hospital in Hillcrest in serious condition, SDFRD spokesman Lee Swanson said. The man, whose name was not released, was likely to lose his left arm, according to police.
One occupant of the car was taken to UCSD Medical Center with minor injuries, Swanson said.
