Plane skids off runway at Brown Field

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A private plane skidded off the runway at Brown Field airport Monday due to a landing-gear malfunction.

Neither of the two people aboard the twin-engine Beechcraft BE-76 was injured when it made the hard landing about 9:45 a.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration. The aircraft sustained minor damage.

The pilot was practicing “touch and go” landing-takeoff maneuvers at the time of the mishap, FAA spokesman Ian Gregor said.
