Point Loma community fighting to save Newport Palm Trees

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Residents are lawyering up to save an iconic symbol of Ocean Beach.

The city has deemed eight palm trees along Newport Avenue and Santa Barbara street a hazard, and are planning to chop them down. KUSI’s Logan Byrnes spoke with attorney Marc Applbaum, who represents two residents hoping to stop the buzz saws from coming.
