Point Loma robbery standoff

POINT LOMA (CNS) – A group of men broke into a Ocean Beach home early Thursday morning and stole electronics and medical marijuana at gunpoint before two were arrested nearby and the rest apparently holed up in a Point Loma house for several hours, police said.

The home invasion robbery in the 4900 block of Santa Cruz Avenue was reported just before 2:20 a.m., according to San Diego police Officer Frank Cali.

A short time later, officers arrested two of the suspected thieves and learned the rest might be holed up in a house in the 2400 block of Chatsworth Boulevard, he said, adding officers surrounded the residence.

At about 6:30 a.m., two suspects came out of the house and were placed in handcuffs, Cali said.

A short time later, police began clearing the scene after determining there were no more suspects.
