Police arrest hit and run suspect Saturday

LA JOLLA (KUSI) – Hit and run suspect, 60-year-old male, was arrested Saturday for a felony after he allegedly struck a pedestrian in La Jolla.

The victim, 77-year-old female, was crossing a crosswalk on the block of La Jolla Boulevard where she was struck by a Ford Explorer. She was hospitalized with a broken pelvis, San Diego Police Officer Robert Heims said.   

The driver pulled over, but then left the scene shortly afterward, according to Heims.   

He was later arrested for hit and run and DUI, Heims said.
