Police arrest man accused of sexually assaulting a Talmadge woman

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Police have arrested a 42-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a Talmadge woman inside of her home last week.

Police on Friday arrested Leonard Derrick on suspicion of burglary and sexual assault. Details on where Derrick was taken into custody has not yet been disclosed.

The woman says she was sexually assaulted in her house on the 4400 block of 50th Street at 5:30 a.m. on March 22. She showed up at a neighbor’s home to report that she had just been attacked by a stranger who had sneaked into her residence.

Officers saw Derrick running from the scene and he is due in court on April 3.
