Police arrest man in possession of $100K worth of methamphetamine

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A man remains in jail Saturday after being found in possession of methamphetamine, thousands of dollars in cash and firearms.

The suspect, Brad Gayhart, was found with $64,000 in cash, several gold and silver collectible coins, six firearms, 440 pills and approximately 3 pounds of methamphetamine in a home on Moccasin Avenue in Clairemont on Friday.

The methamphetamine was first found in the home and then in a vehicle parked behind the home after a sheriff’s dog found it.

The value of the methamphetamine was estimated at around $100,000.

Gayhart was arrested for suspicion for possession of a controlled substance for sale and possession of a controlled substance while armed, in addition to other criminal offenses.

Gayhart’s bail was set at $150,000 and the investigation is ongoing.
