Police identify Escondido pedestrian killed in accident
ESCONDIDO (KUSI) – A young man struck and killed while walking on an Escondido street this weekend was identified today as an 18-year-old San Marcos resident.
Cesar Irwin Robles was struck by a 2008 Toyota Corolla while walking in traffic on San Pasquel Valley Road near Oak Hill Drive shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday, according to Escondido police and the county medical examiner’s office. He died from head injuries before he could be taken to a hospital.
The 86-year-old woman behind the wheel of the Corolla was not hurt and remained at the scene following the crash, Escondido police Lt. Mike Kearney said.
