Police investigate dead body found near U.S. Navy Training Support Center

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — The county Medical Examiner’s Office will investigate the death of a man found on a sidewalk Sunday near a gate to the U.S. Navy Training Support Center, a city police officer said.

Officer John Buttle said the death is being investigated as a possible drug overdose.

San Diego police Sunday were first alerted at 11:35 a.m. to a man lying on the sidewalk in front of a tire shop near Main at D streets, according to the watch commander’s office.

Buttle said the man is believed to have been in his mid-40s. Further details were unavailable.
