Police investigating body found at Boulevard house fire

BOULEVARD (CNS) – An investigation was under way Monday into the death of a person whose body was found inside a burned-out residence in Boulevard, authorities said.

Fire crews and sheriff's deputies went to the 2000 block of Ross Avenue near Old Highway 80 around 8:10 p.m. Sunday in response to a fire at the home and detached garage there, sheriff's Lt. Glenn Giannantonio said. The body was discovered in one of the structures as crews fought the blaze, he said.

Giannantonio said personnel from the sheriff's department's homicide detail, Bomb/Arson Unit and crime lab were summoned to the scene and that the county Medical Examiner's Office would determine the person's identity, cause and manner of death.
