Police investigating body found near I-8

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – Upland police Wednesday were investigating whether a body
found off Interstate 8 in the Grantville neighborhood was that of a missing San
Bernardino County man.

The man in his 20s was reported missing last Wednesday afternoon from a
strip mall parking lot in the city of Upland.

Acting on a tip, Upland police drove to San Diego Tuesday and discovered
the body in a brushy area off I-8, near Fairmount Avenue, Matthews said.
Upland police then notified San Diego police.

SDPD homicide Lt. Kevin Rooney said it appeared criminal activity began
in Upland and continued into San Diego city limits.

The name of the missing man was not released. He was from the city of
Montclair, Matthews said.

Two suspects were reportedly in custody on suspicion of kidnapping and
murder in connection with the case. No other details were immediately released.
