Police investigating fatal Skyline shooting

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – Homicide detectives Tuesday investigated the fatal
shooting of a 35-year-old man in the Skyline area.

The man was shot while standing near a sidewalk area in the 7900 block
of Skyline Drive about 10:10 p.m. Monday, according to San Diego police
homicide Lt. Mike Hastings. He was shot at least once and died shortly after
being taken by ambulance to a local hospital, Hastings said in a statement.

“The preliminary investigation has revealed the victim and others were
standing near the sidewalk area when several individuals walked up,” he said.
“The victim was shot and the suspect group fled towards Meadowbrook Drive.”

No other injuries were immediately reported. The victim's name was
withheld pending family notification.
