Police investigating multiple armed robberies
SAN DIEGO (CNS) – San Diego Police Wednesday investigated a pair of armed robberies committed about an hour apart in La Jolla and the Midway District in similar fashion by two men.
The first robbery at the Sands of La Jolla Hotel at 5417 La Jolla Blvd. was reported at 8:50 p.m. Tuesday and the second, at the Subway sandwich shop at 3445 Midway Drive, was reported at 10:10 p.m., according to San Diego police Officer Ben Newton.
At the hotel, two black men in their 20s wearing dark hoodies, dark pants and masks over their faces pointed a silver handgun at a female clerk and demanded money, her cell phone and jewelry, Newton said.
During the sandwich shop robbery, a black man in his 20s wearing a dark hoodie, dark plaid shorts and a bandana over his face pointed a dark handgun at a clerk and demanded money, while a second black man stood outside, Newton said.
No injuries were reported in either robbery.
