Police investigating suspicious death in Tierrasanta

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – Homicide detectives Wednesday were investigating the death
of a Tierrasanta grandmother whose battered body was found on her kitchen
floor.

A family member made an emergency call about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday to
report finding the woman's body in her home in the 4800 block of Tinasa Way,
according to San Diego police.

Relatives told investigators they had gone to check on the victim,
identified by neighbors as retired artist Joan Robinson, 78, after being unable
to get in touch with her for a while.

Her body bore signs of “blunt force” injuries, SDPD Lt. Mike Hastings
told reporters. An autopsy will determine the cause of death, the lieutenant
said.

Friends of the victim told news crews she lived with an adult son and
had expressed concerns about his mental stability and “anger problems.”
