SAN DIEGO (CNS) – San Diego police were on the lookout Wednesday for the hit-and-run driver who struck and severely injured a pedestrian in the Mountain View neighborhood.
The 55-year-old man was attempting to cross the 4000 block of Imperial Avenue mid-block around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday when he was struck by a white Nissan Altima with a broken right tail light, San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros said. The driver did not stop.
The pedestrian suffered major but not life-threatening head injuries and a broken leg. He was taken to a hospital to be treated, Delimitros said.
