Police looking for suspected Mira Mesa prowler

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A Mira Mesa woman lying next to her young daughter awoke to find a strange shirtless man standing in her apartment early Wednesday but he fled before officers could arrive, police said.

The burglary at the West Star Apartments in the 10100 block of Black Mountain Road was reported at 12:45 a.m., according to San Diego police Sgt. David Jennings. The woman and her daughter were unharmed, he said.

Police were looking for a Hispanic or Asian male in his mid-20s, around 5 feet 5, with a slight beard and thin mustache. He had a gold chain around his neck but was not wearing a shirt or shoes, Jennings said.
