Police release video of trolley assault

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – San Diego police Wednesday released surveillance images of two young men who attacked and robbed a man at a trolley station.

The victim was on a trolley near 500 Park Boulevard about 12:45 p.m. Jan. 11 when two strangers on the train approached and demanded money, San Diego police said. The victim refused, and all three men exited the train at the Park Boulevard stop. Police said the two strangers then attacked the victim and took his iPhone and cash before running off.

Police described one of the robbers as a thin “very dark”-skinned black man, 18-20 years old, about 5 feet 9 inches and 150 pounds. The other was described as a normal-to-muscular build black man, about the same age, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 170-180 pounds.

Anyone with more information about the robbery was asked to call San Diego County Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest in the case.
