Police renew call to help solve two-year-old homicide case
SAN DIEGO (CNS) – San Diego police and Crime Stoppers renewed their call Wednesday for information that could lead to whomever shot and killed a 19-year-old man in Valencia Park two years ago.
Mario Bernal and a friend were hanging out in an alley off Imperial Avenue near 54th Street at about 1:45 a.m. on Aug. 5, 2012, when someone opened fire, according to San Diego police and Crime Stoppers.
Bernal was shot more than once, but made it into a friend’s first-floor apartment on Imperial Avenue before collapsing. He died at the scene about 30 minutes later, authorities said.
Authorities said no suspect description was available.
