87-year-old missing man found safe

MISSION VALLEY (KUSI) – Monday 5:57 a.m. – Joseph Tausch was found safe at a trolley stop in Mission Valley about seven hours after he went missing from his home, police said Monday.

He was spotted at the Qualcomm Stadium Station trolley stop at around 4:45 p.m. Sunday, according to San Diego police Officer Dan Lasher.

He was not injured. Police did not immediately account for his whereabouts while missing.

LA JOLLA (KUSI) – Police were searching for a missing 87-year-old San Diego man who has dementia.   

Joseph Tausch was last seen at his home at 9:30 a.m. in the 600 block of Westbourne Street. Authorities said Tausch drove away in his white 2000 Toyota Camry. The car’s license plate number is DP932GF.   

Police believe Tausch may have driven to Serra Mesa, where he used to live and where he attended church. Tausch has dementia and may become easily lost. He is white, 5 feet 5 and about 150 pounds. He has brown eyes and gray hair.
