Police searching for answers after East Village stabbing

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A man sleeping alongside a street in the East Village was stabbed multiple times early Monday.

The 32-year-old victim was attacked for unknown reasons in the 60 block of 17th Street near Market Street shortly before 1:30 a.m., according to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros. He suffered knife wounds to his face and neck, but police said his injuries were not life-threatening.

The assailant escaped before police arrived. He was described as white, in his 30s, roughly 5 feet 11 and 220 pounds with a buzzcut. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
