Police searching for Mira Mesa bank robber

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – Police were on the lookout Thursday for the man who robbed a bank branch in the Mira Mesa Shopping Center.

The suspect walked up to a teller at the California Coast Credit Union at 8220 Mira Mesa Boulevard and started screaming and demanding money shortly before 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to San Diego police Officer Frank Cali. He did not show a weapon.

The teller handed over an undisclosed amount, and the thief fled northbound through the parking lot, Cali said.

Police described the robber as a thin, dark-skinned man who was about 5-feet-5 and was carrying a dark blue bag. He was using a black “western” bandana to cover his face and was wearing white gloves, a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
