Police searching for robbery suspects

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – San Diego police Monday were investigating an attempted robbery and two armed robberies in which a man wielded what looked like a shotgun wrapped in a white T-shirt.

The attempted robbery took place at the Papa John's Pizza at 3810 Valley Centre Drive in Carmel Valley about 7:35 p.m. Sunday, according to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.

A thin black man about 5 feet 5 inches tall, wearing a bandana over his face, hoodie and jeans attempted to rob the restaurant while another man waited outside, he said.

The successful robberies took place in Otay Mesa at the Chevron Gas Station at 3302 Palm Ave. and the Unocal Gas Station at 4360 Palm Ave. about 8:55 p.m. and 9:35 p.m., respectively, he said.

No one was hurt in the robberies.
