Police searching for suspect in deadly Logan Heights shooting

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A man in his 30s was shot in Logan Heights and later died in a hospital, police said Friday.

The shooting occurred in an alley off National Avenue near South 29th Street shortly before 10:30 p.m. Thursday after “some type of altercation involving the victim and an unknown number of suspects,” San Diego police Lt. Paul Rorrison said.

Officers arrived to find the victim lying in the alley suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper torso, Rorrison said.

The victim, whose name was not immediately available, was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center, where he later died, according to the lieutenant.

Rorrison said a description of the shooter was unavailable this morning.
