Police searching for suspects who assaulted woman in Barrio Logan
SAN DIEGO (CNS) – An investigation was under way Tuesday into the sexual
assault of a 31-year-old woman by two males in San Diego's Barrio Logan
neighborhood, police said.
The woman told investigators she was grabbed from behind while walking
northbound in the 900 block of Sampson Avenue around 8:10 p.m. Monday,
according to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros. She had just gotten off
a bus at Logan and Sampson avenues, he said.
Her attackers knocked her to the ground and covered her head with a
jacket before taking turns sexually assaulting her, Delimitros said, noting
there was no description of the assailants, other than they were males.
It was the second reported sexual assault in southeast San Diego in two
days. An 18-year-old woman reported being sexually assaulted by a man near the
Euclid Avenue trolley station around 4:15 a.m. Sunday, police said.
The woman told investigators she was waiting for the trolley when the
man lured her to a secluded area and sexually assaulted her before fleeing.
Police described him as a dark-skinned man, between 19 and 25, around 6
feet tall, last seen wearing baggy jeans and a long sleeve white shirt.
Anyone with information about either sexual assault was urged to call
San Diego police at (619) 531-2000.
