Police seek help with Ramona cold case

RAMONA (CNS) – Authorities Thursday asked for the public’s help in solving the case of a missing child who disappeared from the Ramona area nearly 28 years ago.

Elaina Eugenia Rivera was 13 when her father reported missing on June 29, 1987, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. He told authorities that Elaina was last seen three days earlier around 6:30 p.m. in the 14000 block of Mussey Grade Road.

“At the time of her disappearance, Elaina was described as standing 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing about 90 pounds with long brown hair and brown eyes,” a sheriff’s bulletin said. “She has a small scar on the right side of her upper lip.”

Anyone with information about what happened to Elaina was asked to call sheriff’s homicide detectives at (858) 974-2321.
