Police seek man suspected of assaulting woman in Mountain View

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — San Diego police are asking for help in finding a man suspected of assaulting a woman in her Mountain View home last month.

Alejandro Avila Ibarra allegedly illegally entered the victim’s home on T. and South 39th Streets May 27, grabbed the victim and attempted to sexually assault her, according to San Diego County Crime Stoppers and San Diego police.

The suspect may have a severe injury to the fingers on his left hand garnered in the ensuing fight, authorities said.

The woman was not identified and it is unknown if she knew the suspect.

Ibarra was described by authorities as Hispanic, 5 feet 8 inches tall and 180 pounds with a medium build.
