Port of San Diego to host public discussion on future Embarcadero development

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The Port of San Diego will hold an open house Wednesday to take feedback on future planning priorities for the Embarcadero.

The meeting is part of ongoing drafting of the Port Master Plan Update that will outline development plans for about 6,000 acres along the San Diego Bay the port oversees.

The Embarcadero area is home to a mix of landmarks and commercial space like the USS Midway Museum, Seaport Village and the Tuna Harbor Dockside Market.

The port is seeking feedback, in particular, about the preferred usage of the northern and central sections of the Embarcadero, roughly spanning from the San Diego International Airport to Seaport Village.

In addition to the meeting, residents can take a survey on future Embarcadero developments at portofsandiego.org through Jan. 31.

The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Port of San Diego Administration Building, located at 3165 Pacific Highway. Residents can find more information on the Port Master Plan Update drafting process by visiting The Port of San Diego’s website.
