Poway boil water advisory lifted

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A boil water advisory that was announced nearly a week ago in Poway was lifted Friday evening.

The City of Poway issued its first-ever citywide boil water advisory Nov. 30 after residents reported seeing discolored tap water the night before. Officials said they believed tap water was compromised when rainwater entered the water distribution system.

Since the order was put in place, city officials have been distributing bottled water to Poway residents.

The city announced the end to the boil water advisory around 6 p.m. Friday.
