Poway Mayor announces run for board of supervisors

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Poway Mayor Steve Vaus announced Wednesday he will run for San Diego County County Supervisor, District 2 in the 2020 election.

“It’s been an honor to serve as Mayor of Poway and I’m proud of my record. My priorities as East County’s Supervisor will be the same as they have been as Mayor: keeping us safe from crime and fire, maintaining infrastructure, protecting and expanding open space, allowing development where appropriate, and being accessible,” said Vaus.

Supervisor Dianne Jacob will be stepping down after nearly three decades on the Board to open up the seat in 2020.
