Poway Unified School District responds to racist video posted by high school student

T.J. Zane, President of the Poway Unified School District Board of Education joined Good Morning San Diego to discuss the district’s response to a racist video posted online by a Poway High School Student.

The Poway Unified School District has confirmed the student making racial slurs in a video posted on social media is a Poway High School student.

The Poway Unified School District issued a statement with a series of tweets.

The incident is being investigated. Concerned students, families, and staff are welcome to meet with the district regarding the incident.

The school is punishing the student for violating district policy. Details of the punishment are not yet known.
