Power to be restored in Oceanside following late-night crash

OCEANSIDE (KUSI) – Power was still out in parts of Oceanside early Wednesday morning following a late-night crash that downed a high voltage power line.

The crash took place just before 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night at Mission Avenue and Butler Street, when a motorist lost control of her vehicle and hit a power pole. The driver was uninjured in the crash.

The force of the collision severed one of the power lines from the utility pole. SDG&E officials were quick to shut off power while they attempted to fix the line.

Power was expected to be completely restored to the affected area by 1 p.m.
