President Obama calls climate change bigger threat than terrorism

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – President Obama’s critics spoke out Wednesday, claiming he is completely out of touch with who America’s true enemies are.On Wednesday, the President said the real threat to America is not another country, a rogue state or a terrorist group.

Instead, the President claims climate change is putting this country at great risk.

As President Obama congratulated the newest graduates from the Coast Guard Academy, he warned them of a new enemy they will face when they being their military careers.

This enemy is not ISIS, or Al-Qaeda or Boko Haram, but an enemy that is climate change.

The President said climate change and the rising global temperatures it brings pose a bona fide threat to national security.

President Obama told the Coast Guard graduates climate change and rising sea levels jeopardize the readiness of U.S. Forces and threaten to aggravate social tensions and political instability around the globe.

The President’s critics pounced on his remakes, saying they come days before the Memorial Day weekend when America will honor its war heroes, including the close to 200 Americans killed in Ramadi, Iraq, which has now been taken over by ISIS Militants who hoist into the air their trademark black flags.

The President said the following to climate change skeptics: 

“Denying it undermines our national security.”
