Alarm Clock Pep Rally Game: Christian Patriots 51, Mission Bay Buccaneers 21

Week 11 Alarm Clock Pep Rally Game featured Christian beating Mission Bay 51-21.

The tone of the game was set on the first patriots possession when Bradley Jeremiah hooks up with Theo Goodwin for the 58 yard score. Goodwin would finish the game with a huge night of four touchdowns and one interception. In the second quarter Jeremiah would lead the team down the field to set up a Joey Morones one yard touchdown. Next Christian possession a big strike to Bryce Riepl would lead to a Jeremiah QB keep for a touchdown. 

Mission Bay kept it close early. Trevor Scully airing it out to Christian Zamudio for 78 yards. Their defense had a solid first quarter getting pressure on Jeremiah and interception by Joseph Duran. Scully would also link up with Marcus Nickerson in the first half on a 17 yard touchdown pass. 

After the early push by the Bucs the Patriots defense came up big. Two sacks by Jon Stein in the end of the first half. Bryce Riepl and Theo Goodwin both had interceptions in the game as well. 

With the win Christian wins the Eastern league title and earns a number one seed in the playoffs. Mission Bay finishes the season 5-6. 


This week’s Alarm Clock Pep Rally game will feature Christian High School at they take on the Mission Bay Buccaneers.

The Patriots are 9-0 this season and at the top of the Division 3 standings. Brad Jeremiah, their junior quarterback, has thrown for just over 1,400 yards and 13 touchdowns this season. His top receiver is Benjamin Goodwin who has pulled down eight touchdowns this season. Senior Joey Morones gets things done on the ground. He has 21 touchdowns and 877 yards this season. Garrett Rosenthal leads the defense with 63 tackles on the year and had some key plays in their big win over Point Loma last week.

Mission Bay is 5-5 this year and looking for a Division 2 playoff birth. The Bucs are coming off a big win over Scripps Ranch where their offense exploded putting 55 points on the board. Mission Bay scored 4 unanswered touchdowns in the first half. That was thanks to Joseph Duran and Charles Hicks who had a touchdown run apiece and Kenyon Sims had two touchdown runs.

Highlights from this game can be seen Friday night on the Prep Pigskin Report at 10:30pm. The fun begins on the Patriots campus at 6am on Good Morning San Diego.
