Ocean View Christian Patriots 55, Borrego Springs Rams 8

Week 10 is all Ocean View Christian, as they defeat the Borrego Springs Rams 55-8.  The Patriots with the win improve their record too (5-3) as the Rams fall too (4-5) on the year.  Patriot’s quarterback, Dylan Loewenthal highlighted his senior day performance with multiple touchdowns in the game.

The Patriots were dominant right from the gates as they scored 34 unanswered points to start the game.  The Ocean View defense got on the board first, as freshmen, Christian Liang scooped up and returned a Rams fumble taking it all the way to the house for a 7-0 lead.

Ocean View didn’t stop there, in the second quarter the Patriots combined to score four touchdowns, three of them by Loewenthal, which gave the Patriots a hefty 34-8 halftime lead.

The Patriots defense continued there dominating performance, as the Patriots shut out the Rams the entire second half.  After a couple more Ocean View touchdowns the Patriots took home the win by the score of 55-8.

Both teams will look to get in the win column next week as the Ocean View Patriots will go on the road to face the (2-7) Warner Wildcats.  While the Borrego Springs Rams will host the (1-7) St. Joseph Academy Crusaders.

Week 10 of the PPR will feature 8-man football as the (4-3) Ocean View Christian Patriots play host to the (4-4) Borrego Springs Rams in a Citrus League matchup Friday afternoon.  The Patriots will hope to improve their 3-1 home record against a very stout Borrego Springs Rams team.

The Rams will lean on their three-headed running attack, headlined by senior running back Justin Lopez.  Lopez who leads the team in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns will hope to expose this tough Patriots defense who have won three out of their past four games.

Stopping Dylan Loewenthal will be the main focus for the Rams defense as the six-foot dual-threat quarterback leads the team in total yards.  Loewenthal’s ability to make plays with his feet is one of the main reasons why this Patriots team has had so much success this season.

On the defensive side of the ball watch out for Ocean View Christian’s Isaac Hernandez and Borrego Spring’s Oscar Fuentes as both players headline their defenses respectively.
