Calvary Christian Royal Knights 52, Rock Academy Warriors 47

The Rock Academy Warriors (7-2) hosted the Calvary Christian Royal Knights (8-1) at Horizon High School, winner would be the Ocean League Champions.

This was a shootout from the beginning back and forth this game would go. Ultimately it would be decided on one last chance for Rock Academy who went for an onside kick down 5 late in the fourth quarter. They would fail to recover the ball.  8-man football saved its best for last in this last game of the regular season. Rock Academy QB Jordan Mitchell had 5 passing touchdowns on the day, while his counterpart Calvary Christian QB Moises Hermandez had 5 touchdown passes. Warrior QB Jordan Mitchell would even leave the game in the third quarter after taking a hard shot to the back, but would almost lead his team to a comeback after being down 44-27. The defense was not found on this day for both squads. Though late in the game the Warriors gave it all they could but would ultimately allow the Royal Knights to put this game away with a late touchdown.

PREVIEW: The Calvary Christian Royal Knights (8-1) will take on the Rock Academy Warriors (7-2) this Friday afternoon at Horizon High School. The Royal Knights come into this game riding a three game winning streak and hope to continue it, while the Warriors come in winning their past two games.

A win for Coach Gene Rheam and the Calvary Christians will mean they have won the Division 8-man title. Coach Rali Schwartz and the Rock Academy will not back down from this fight, as they were able to beat Calvin Christian last week, who fell to (2-1) in league standings. Calvary Christian, Rock Academy, and Calvin Christian are all (2-1) in league standings. Calvin Christian has a big game this Friday versus Foothills Christian. This Friday one team will come out as the division title winner. Eight-man football could not get any more exiting as it has come down to some pivotal final games on the last week of the season. One team will be crowned division winner.
