Christian 63, Hilltop 7

The Central League’s top team Christian Patriots (6-0) head south to play the Metro-South Bay’s Hilltop Lancers (2-4).

The Christian Patriots improve their winning streak to 14 games straight after dismantling the Hilltop Lancers 63-7.

The Patriots, 7-0, have outscored their opponents by a total of 293-31 in the last five games.

This game played out like their previous four, the defense made plays and the offense was unstoppable.

QB David Jeremiah was decisive in getting the ball out quickly and his receivers made defenders miss in the open field.

The running game also had a big impact with the backfield duo of Adrian Petty and Joey Morones running wild through the Lancer defense.

The Lancers (2-5) are a completely different team without star QB Daniel Sancez, who tore his MCL Week 6, but even with him Hilltop still would have had little chance of pulling out the win.

Everything worked for 15-year Head Coach Matt Oliver and the Patriots tonight as they were more athletic and out coached the opposition.

Christian is now only the second team in Div. III to remain undefeated and now have the second longest current winning streak in the San Diego Section behind Sweetwater.

The Patriots look to keep their win streak in-tact Week 9 as they travel to play Clairemont.

Hilltop goes from playing one undefeated team to the next as they will be tested by Sweetwater in Week 9.
