San Diego Cavers 28, Clairemont Chieftains 7

Friday night’s matchup at Balboa Stadium where the San Diego Cavers hosted the Clairemont Chieftains in a matchup between two Division 4 rivals. The pregame ceremonies kicked our game off with the Cavers honoring the seniors on the football team. The Cavers started off hot with a quick touchdown with Quinn O’Connor  connected to his wide out Thomas Marcus for a twenty-eight yard touchdown in the air. In the second quarter, it was the Cavers who struck first when Jayden Whickware scampered on in from 14 yards out to make the score 14-0 Cavers. The following drive, the Chieftains pulled the halfback pass to perfection when Donovan Fitzgerald took the pass from Dylan Suitts for a 66-yard touchdown. After that, it was all Cavers, Mr. O’Connor tossed his 2nd and 3rd touchdown of the night, his second of the night to Raiden Hunter from 32-yards, and his last to Daniel Thomas from 35-yards out. Final Score San Diego Cavers 28, Clairemont Chieftains 7. The Cavers continue their perfect season into week 6, and hopefully they can keep their momentum into the playoffs to bring home a title.

This Friday Night we have the undefeated San Diego High Cavers facing off against the Clairemont Chieftains who are 3-2 coming off a shutout win against Montgomery last Friday Night.

The Chieftains will have the disadvantage playing on the road in Caver territory, but they will be coming off hot from a win. The Caver offense will be looking to come out strong with starting quarterback number 10 Quinn O’Connor averaging 130 passing yards per game. The Chieftain defense will be looking to put up huge stops with leading tackler Brian Martinhauk who is currently averaging 13 tackles per game.

The Cavers are an impressive 4-0 while the Chieftain’s currently sit at 2-3. Will the Chieftain’s come up with a huge win to get back to .500% football or will the Cavers continue to roll and stay perfect at 5-0. The San Diego Cavers defense will have to be able to control the Chieftains starting quarterback Griffin Catarius averaging 64 passing yards and 50 rushing yards per game, we will have to see if leading tackler Eric Orfanos averaging almost 9 tackles per game can control this Caver offense.

This weeks matchup should be exciting, but we will only have one winner this Friday night. For full highlights catch the Prep Pigskin Re port live on Friday nights at 10:30 on KUSI. Also, follow the @redjacketarmy and @kusippr on Twitter and Instagram.
