It was a wet and packed night for tonight’s game! The Classical Academy Caimans dominated the game against the Army and Navy Academy Warriors, 38-0. What a shut out! The Warriors held their heads up high and kept playing the game.

Senior Night and Homecoming was a success for the Caimans. The cheerleaders, dancers, and senior players were all acknowledged for their excellent leadership and contribution to their sports programs. The field was filled with roses, smiles, and proud parents.

The Caimans had the upper-hand tonight. Quarterback James Duncan was on fire! Continuous passes were on target all night and multiple touchdowns. His main targets were Damian Castaneda and, of course, Diego Preciado. Castaneda scored two back-to-back touchdowns in the first quarter, leading the Caimans 14-0. Preciado had an amazing 67-yard punt return (RUN FOREST RUN) and a 43-yard field goal. On top of that, six successful field goals. What can’t this kid do? Too bad he’s a senior; he will be missed by all the Caiman community.

Unfortunately, the game was called as complete at half-time due to poor weather conditions. The referees agreed it was unsafe for the players and crowd to be in the lightning. In the end, the Caimans take home the win. Week 9 closes, Week 10 opens: hopefully without rain.

PREVIEW –

We have another exciting game for you all in the bag for Week 9 at the PPR.

The Classical Academy Caimans will play Army and Navy Academy Warriors. Two academies at one game? It’s on! The game will take place at Del Norte High School at 7:30 Pp.m.

Coach Nehemiah Brunson and the Warriors, from Division V, currently have an overall status of 2-5. They are ranked No. 914 in the state and fourth in the Pacific League with an 0-2 record.

Coach Jon Goodman and the Caimans hold a 4-3 overall record. The Division IV team was bumped up in the state rankings from No. 699 to No. 668.

Classical Academy beat Army-Navy last year, 21-14.

The Caimans’ Diego Preciado had a staggering 103 all-purpose yards and quarterback James Duncan led with 45 total yards. Be on the lookout for these two boys.

Army-Navy’s upcoming senior, John Hart, a wide receiver, had 38 all-purpose yards from punt and kickoff returns. The Warriors’ offense and defense should bring their A-game this week.

Also, Friday will be an exhilarating night for the Caimans because two major events will take place: Senior Night and Homecoming. 21 Seniors will be celebrated, almost half of the football team, so they will definitely be missed next year. The night is going to be packed with cheers, performances, and high-energy.
