Classical Academy 28, Escondido Charter 7

The Prep Pigskin Report will be giving you highlights of Week 7 action between Division V opponents, the Classical Academy Caimans (4-1) and Escondido Charter White Tigers (0-6).

The Classical Academy Caimans (5-1, 1-0) spoiled Senior Night at Orange Glen and opened up Pacific League play with a win by defeating the Escondido Charter White Tigers (0-7, 0-1) 28-7.

The Caimans came out sluggish in the first half only getting a field goal from 30 yards out by Brandon Gahler, but rallied in the fourth quarter scoring 19 points on their last three possessions of the game.

The White Tigers kept it in striking distance for majority of the game, but it began to unravel when Escondido Charter was denied on the goal line twice on a 12 play drive to open up the second half.

After the defensive stop, Classical Acadamy’s RB Ryley Racciato had the biggest play of the game with a 94-yard run. Brian Fletcher finished the drive with a 1-yard touchdown run and a 9-0 lead in the third quarter.

Racciato ran the Caimans to victory rushing for 190 yards with 49 yards coming on a touchdown that cushioned the lead to 15-0. The senior also played well defensively with one interception late in the game.

Classical Academy will play Tri-City Christian in Week 8.

Escondido Charter still in search for their first win get a Bye Week to then play Tri-City Christian the following week.
