Steele Canyon dominates in the Corvette Diner Alarm Clock Pep Rally Game beating Mira Mesa 52-26
The Cougars Thomas Fishburne with a solid first half 3 touchdowns, an interception on defense and a field goal. Fishburne was 11 of 26 for 262 yards. Nathaniel Gorden, Randy Jordan and Jordan Anderson all scoring in the first half. They would also have a big game by Isaiah Thompson who had gains of 37 and 39 yards plus a touchdown run. Thompson would 98 total rushing yards.
Steele Canyon started strong recovering a Mira Mesa opening kick off fumble forced by Israel Breland. Perry Steele would score on the next play. The Cougars defense also performing. Darin Walton with a sack for a loss of 15 yards in the second quarter. Fishburne came up with a interception to end the first half.
Mira Mesa was in the game to begin with thanks to a 66 yard run by Noah Tumblin that would set up a Tumblin score and 2 point conversion. The Marauders wouldn’t go away easy. Artyom Harr with a 95 yard kick off return in the 2nd quarter to cut the cougar lead to 15.
The Cougars improve to 3-2 and will host Helix in Week 7. Mira Mesa is now 4-1 and will host Morse next week.

The Week 5 Corvette Diner Alarm Clock Pep Rally Game brings us to Steele Canyon as they face Mira Mesa High School.
The Cougars are 2-2 coming off a 14-13 win over Otay Ranch. Quarterback Thomas Fishburne is a player to watch. was the catalyst on the last drive using his arm and legs. The senior found Jordan Anderson for the game winning touchdown last week against the Mustangs. The most impressive thing about Fishburne is not only can he throw and scramble, he plays both ways. Playing safety, Fishburne came up with big tackles to stall multiple Mustang drives.
Mira Mesa meanwhile is 4-0 to start the season. They are led by junior quarterback Noah Tumblin who has 10 passing touchdowns and 3 rushing touchdowns. The team also leans on running back Elijah Thomas who had 100 yards and 2 touchdowns in their last game. Junior Malachi Vanta lead the Mira Mesa defense to a dominating victory with three sacks in the first half of that game. The Marauders are also going to be fresh coming off their bye week.
