University City 35, El Cajon Valley 7

Friday November 7, 2014: The El Cajon Valley Braves (2-7) fell short against the University City Centurions (5-4) in a non-conference match-up with a final score of 35-7. In the first half the Braves were plagued with turnovers, while the Centurions offense was hitting on all cylinders. The Centurions started the first quarter with a 12 yard touchdown run by Quarzahn Thomas, bringing the score to 7-0 University City. Later in the second quarter, the Centurions opened up their passing attack with an 89 yard touchdown pass from Drake Aguon to Jordan Tatro, making it 14-0 University City. Centurions Dominique Lewis passed the 1,000 yard rushing mark today with a 5 yard touchdown run in the second quarter; Lewis is the first Centurion to rush for over 1,000 yards in 15 years! El Cajon would not be shut out tonight when Braves captain Matthew Shearin rushed for a 34 yard touchdown, making the score 21-7.

In the second half University City would resume their aerial attack with sophomore wide receiver Kyle Strobbe. Strobbe had a stellar second half racking up over 60 yards receiving and reeling in a 6 yard touchdown catch for the final score of the night.
