West Hills 36, El Cajon Valley 7
It was only fitting the night ended with a bang. West Hills enjoyed a firework show after a 36-7 homecoming victory over El Cajon Valley.
El Cajon Valley held the ball first. Running back Shearin Matthew ran the ball effectively the first few plays until the Braves could not convert on 3rd and 8.
West Hill’s Jacob Shaw converted on 4th and 1, which helped set up a 22-yard touchdown catch from Spencer Moyer to Devon Hathaway. The extra point was no good. Wolf Pack lead 6-0.
At the end of the first quarter, quarterback Moyer found another popular receiver, Raphy Carr, in the open. Carr went 40-yards with the catch and run to the end zone to extend West Hill’s lead to 13-0.
In the second quarter, the Braves got on the board after a 14-yard touchdown run from Shearin. 13-7 Wolf Pack.
West Hill’s extended their lead before halftime. The Braves were backed up near their end zone when a bad snap caused West Hills to fall onto the ball, resulting in a touchdown. The extra point was no good. 19-7 Wolf Pack.
It was all Wolf Pack after the half. Shaw and Carr both added another touchdown. West Hill’s has now won four in a row and improves to (5-2) on the season. They will travel to Granite Hills next Friday.
The Braves will play at Monte Vista.
