Poway Titans 39, Escondido Cougars 0

Week Four closes with the Poway Titans coming out with a win against the Escondido Cougars, 39-0.

Titans’ junior Josh Butler came barreling out within the first few plays of the first quarter, impressing with a 50-yard touchdown run, making it 7-0 Titans.

Butler then did it again, with a noteworthy 60-yard touchdown run, giving the Titans a 13-0 lead.

It seems that these fast plays set the tone for the rest of the night.

The Titans managed to stop the Cougars on a few drive attempts throughout the night.

The game was filled with handoffs from both teams.

Titans’ junior Justin Kramer also showed up tonight, adding to the Titans’ success with a 5-yard touchdown run, making it 36-0.

The Cougars made a notable effort, it just seems that the Titans’ offense overpowered them.

Next week, the Poway Titans will be on the road playing the Westview Wolverines and Escondido will be playing at home versus the Fallbrook Warriors.

The Escondido Cougars (2-1) will be on the road as they face the Poway Titans (1-2) in Week Four.

Last week, the Titans found themselves with a 20-14 loss against Ramona’s Bulldogs.

Titans’ junior Josh Butler had quite a game last week, racking up 83 yards on 14 carries, and one touchdown.

Another Titans’ player that stood out last week was sophomore Vance Jefferson.

Jefferson had one touchdown on 5 carries and pulled off 86 yards. Jefferson can do some damage when he gets the ball.

Poway’s offense might be tested this Friday night.

Escondido’s defensive line is looking strong. Escondido has a handful of returning seniors, including Mason Malone and Lance DeSorbo. These two might be tough to get past.

Last week, Escondido picked up an impressive 30-7 win against Chula Vista, giving Chula Vista its first loss of the season.

With both teams having impressive offensive and defensive skills, this matchup will be one that shouldn’t be missed.
