Week 3 Preview: Hilltop Lancers at San Ysidro Cougars

The Hilltop Lancers (0-2) will be taking on the San Ysidro Cougars (0-2) this Friday night at 7 p.m. at San Ysidro High School.

The Hilltop Lancers are coming off of a difficult defeat as they succumbed to the Eastlake Titan offense by a final score of 57-7.

Even though the Lancers do not have a win this year, veteran head coach Andrew Westling is looking to lead his team to victory.

Senior quarterback Joseph Castillo is having a great start to the 2018 season as he has thrown for over 300 yards and has four passing touchdowns under his belt.

On the other side of the ball, the Lancer defense, led by seniors Marcos Deanda and Julian Roque, look to limit the Cougar offense.

San Ysidro looks to have a successful season after finishing last year with an overall 3-7 record.

Head coach Keith Aguon is also in search of his first victory and looks to accomplish that task at the Cougars’ home opener on Friday night.

San Ysidro had some tough breaks during the first two games but they look to get the wheels rolling hoping to gain momentum for the rest of the season.

Junior running back Josue Juarez and senior running back Marcus Bowman look to help their team win in the process.

Be sure to tune in every Friday night at 10:45 p.m. for the “1st and 15” followed immediately by the PPR at 11 p.m.
