Holtville 40, Army-Navy Academy 6
The Holtville Vikings took command over the Army Navy Warriors tonight 40-6, traveled a little over 300 miles today but their performance on the field made the trip home a nice one. Game set with the ocean a mere toss away, as the Corps of Cadets at Army Navy Academy commenced pre game on their sophomore field.
The Warriors coming out strong in their first possession, even with some trickery, as QB John Carter, (also the punter) stood back and faked the punt for a 23 yard gain, however, Friday night was all Vikings in all three phases. A few who shined bright tonight; Esteban Munoz had yards in the air and on the ground, with a 29 yard TD keeper and 28 yard TD pass to David Rodriquez, who also had some big punt returns. Joseph Florence had 73 yard pick 6 and Josh Edwards with a 17 yard rushing TD. On the ensuing kick off Warriors Isaac Ross had a 98-yard TD return and brought a spark, actually Ross had dynamite numbers. He will most likely be a candidate for KUSI’s PPPR Play of the Week.
Never the less, in the end, too much to overcome, the Vikings taking the W all the way back with them to Holtville and with a 4-1 record.
