Julian Eagles 46, Oceanview Christian Patriots 0

Week 8 belongs to the Julian Eagles.  The Eagles were too much for the Ocean View Patriots, as they scored 46 unanswered points in the first half.  For the player’s safety, the coaches and officials agreed to call the game at halftime, where Julian lead 46-0.  Julian improves too (4-2), as the Ocean View Patriots fall to (3-3) on the year.

Things started early and often for the Eagles offense, as running back Osvaldo Martinez broke off a 43 yard TD run in the first quarter to put Julian up 8-0.  Martinez again went the distance, as he broke off another long touchdown run for 45 yards to extend the Eagle lead 16-0.

Following a Patriot three and out, Julian quarterback, Shane Cranfield found Gage Baay for a 33-yard touchdown.

On the ensuing Eagles possession, it was Cranfield again, this time to Nyemetaay Linton for 40 yards to put the Julian lead at 30-0.

After a couple more Eagles scores, the game was called.  Julian hopes to extend its dominant 3 game win streak against (4-3) Borrego Springs.  The Patriots, following the loss, will play host to (1-4) Horizon Prep.

The (3-2) Ocean View Christian Patriots will host the (3-2) Julian Eagles at 3:00 pm Friday afternoon, in this Week 8 Citrus League rivalry matchup. This 8-man league matchup includes two teams that are looking to extend their win streaks to three games respectively.

Julian comes into the matchup on a powerful run in which they have posted up to 60 plus points in back to back games.  They will lean heavy on the ground game as their senior running back, Osvaldo Martinez has ran for over a hundred yards in all but one game this season.

This game has the looks of a shootout, and the player the Eagles should keep an eye on is senior captain, Dylan Loewenthal, who leads the Patriots in all-purpose yards.  Loewenthal’s ability to make plays in the open field will be a handful for the Julian defense.  Ocean View Christian will put their unbeaten home record on the line, in this highly anticipated matchup.
