Clairemont 41, Kearny 7
The Clairemont Chieftains hosted the Kearny Komets for Senior Night and the final regular season game for the Chieftains. The seniors definitely put on a show for tonight’s crowd, beginning with Sandro Baldassarre who contributed to offense as well as defense for Clairemont. Senior quarterback RJ McCoy left it up to the running game to score all but one of the Chieftains touchdowns. Last but certainly not least was Alex Beaubien who had a 7 yard carry for the opening touchdown. The Chieftains now wait to see what’s next for the last leg of the 2014 season.
The Komets fell to the Chieftains 41-7 on Friday Night. Kearny has their final game of the regular season next week against La Jolla. Despite Kearny’s 0-9 record there could be a slight possibility they can get a bid for playoffs because of power rankings, due to the fact that Kearny had such a strong schedule this season. Takoda Brown had a spectacular one-handed catch from Kevin Villa to score the only touchdown for the Komets.
Catch next week’s action for the Komets on Prep Pigskin Report at 10:30, don’t fret because PPR will also show highlights from playoff games as well.
