Bishop’s 49, La Jolla Country Day 6

Although it may have been La Jolla Country Day’s senior night, it was the Bishops Knight’s night all around. Bishops stuck to their game by relying on their star player Bulla Graft. Graft got the Knights on the board quickly with a pair of touchdowns and by the second quarter, the Knights lead the Torreys 28-0. When the Torreys were finally moving the ball on the Knights stingy defense, they missed a field goal to end their drive. Bishops capitalized off the missed opportunity with a touchdown drive ending with yet another touchdown from Graft. The route was on and Bishops didn’t’t want to let up as they blocked a field goal attempt from La Jolla Country Day just before the half. The Torreys were able to get on the board with a 32 yard touchdown pass to David Wylie. The Knights however, blocked the point after and Bishops continued their offensive campaign with an amazing touchdown grab from Bulla Graft in the corner of the end zone. The final score 49-6, improved the Bishop Knights to an undefeated (10-0) season. La Jolla Country Day on the other hand dropped to (4-6).

With the CIF Playoffs around the corner, the Bishops Knights will most likely enjoy the week off with the number one seed in Division IV. The last time the Knights ended with a perfect season, they did so by raising a CIF State Championship trophy late in December. Bishops will have to keep the momentum going if they want to repeat what they did in 2010.
