Preview: La Jolla Country Day vs Montgomery
Searching for their second win of the season, the La Jolla Country Day Torreys (1-2), head south this Friday to face the Montgomery Aztecs (1-3).
The Torreys will have fresh legs coming off a bye week and a big 41-6 win over Escondido Charter, while the Aztecs look to get back on the win column after three consecutive loses.
Aztec running back Charles Crawford has averaged 106 yards per game on the ground while the team has totaled 202 yards per game. Quarterback Nate Aragon has been very accurate through the air, completing 72% of his passes on the season and connecting to fellow senior receiver Alex Moore on nearly half of his throws.
Quarterback Braxton Burmeister leads the Torrey offense through the air and the ground, totaling 287 yards per game and 10 total touchdowns. His favorite target is sophomore wide-out Brennan Goring who has averaged an impressive 126 yards per game.
Defensively, both teams will look to create more turnovers, which could be the difference between two teams that are averaging nearly 30 points per game and appear to be even on paper.
