Madison Warhawks 48, Mira Mesa Marauders 7

There were no shortage of highlights and exciting plays during this Friday night action between the Mira Mesa Marauders and the Madison Warhawks. It may have been a blowout on paper, but after a rough start the fans had a lot of entertainment from both sides. In the end the score may say it was one sided, but the effort was present on each side of the ball all night.

Early on the Warhawks established their dominance and pulled away in the first half. Heading into halftime up five touchdowns, and eventually improving to (8-1) record on the season. Lead by their two stars in the back field, Erick Buchanan and Kenan Christon. The two only played the first half, but accounting for five of the team’s total 7 touchdowns. The two for 225 yards on just a combined 15 carries in only one half of action. It is good building this momentum heading into next week’s task, heading to Cathedral Catholic to take on the undefeated Dons to end the regular season.

The Marauders will be looking to end their season on a good note next week as they travel to Morse High School. Tonight’s solo touchdown was scored by Giovanni Herrera, a 5 yarder punched in during a good third quarter drive. Now the only one game that matters and all should be focus on, is next weeks. Making sure it’s their best effort of the year, sending off their seniors on the best note possible. PREVIEW: This Friday night action features the Madison Warhawks (7-1) taking on the Mira Mesa Marauders (1-7) for Week 10. Not too many unknowns heading into the game, but every game contest has a game within a game. This game is where the dominant team could always use to work on things for the upcoming challenges. While the team that isn’t as seasoned, looks to improve on all aspects of there own game. 

The Warhawks are easily the favorites heading into Friday’s game, but it does not mean they don’t have a few things to tune up before the playoffs roll around. They did have a minor slip up opening week of the season visiting Vista Murrieta Broncos, ending in an eleven-point deficit. Since then they have been riding high on a 7 game winning streak. 

The Warhawks haven’t seen anything remotely close to a challenge, winning every game in blowout fashion. They are lead by the senior combination of quarterback Terrell Carter and running back Erick Buchanan. These two showstoppers account for nearly 400 of the team’s total average of 466 yards per game. 

While the struggling Marauders of Mira Mesa have been a tough 8 game losing streak. They’re just looking to compete and give them selves a chance down the stretch to win a game. They are lead by senior running back Lamar Raboteau Jr. averaging a shade under half of his teams 300 yards per game.
